The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery is a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

   


Requirements Governing Admissibility to Examinations

Drop CapA candidate must apply to the Board’s certification process within five (5) years after the completion of approved colon and rectal training.

The entire certification process with the Board must be successfully completed within seven (7) years following approval of the formal application. In addition, a candidate whose application for examination has been approved but who does not take the examination within three (3) years must submit a new application.

In exceptional or unusual circumstances the Board may, at its discretion, waive one or more of these limitations specified.
