Time-Limited Certification

Beginning with those candidates who passed the certifying examination in 1990 and thereafter, The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery will issue time-limited certificates. Certification will be valid for five (5) years from the date of certification, after which diplomates are required to participate in Continuous Certification in order to maintain certification status.

Note: Time-limited certification will not affect Diplomates holding certificates issued prior to 1990.
